Is anyone still using spot material, or is it completely out of fashion?

Hi Sacha. I have never found a good pattern to use for skirts and ended up creating my own – adapting sections from a commercial pattern and adding frills etc. as necessary.
If you can, make a basic “gore” shape for the skirt (fitted from waist to hip and then flaring out to the hem) then you can put as many of those together as you need to make the basis skirt.
I’ll try and put together some basic ideas and suggestions on the blog soon!
