I get a lot of enquiries from people looking for good flamenco classes across the UK and always pass on details when I can.  There seem to be pockets of interest all over the place, which is great – my dream is to learn of an equivalent Morris Dancing Class somewhere in Spain…..

Let me know if you go to or have heard of a good Flamenco class near you – who the teacher is and what its like.

Is there anyone else out there as frustrated as me at the fact that I cannot find any Flamenco classes nearby? (Southend and surrounding areas) Would anyone be interested in coming if we could manage to coax Sandra down this way? Please let me know so that we can get the ball rolling. Rebecca.

I’m not in the area, but you people really must get Sandra to come down. Never mind this post looking for other teachers, she has honestly got to be the best flamenco teacher anywhere! Patient, passionate and totally inspiring at all levels ;-)

Totally agree with Steph’s sentiments above!
This is turning into an “Espuelita” fan club :-)

Can I put in another plea for the Southend area please, Sandra? Let’s liven the place up a bit!

Hi one and all. Sounds like there is some real flamenco passion around the Southend area! Can anyone help me out by suggesting a good venue and perhaps with some advertising? I think I even know a guitarist in the area (are you still around there, Mike?) so this could be a real possibility.

I’m looking for flamenco classes for children in the Sheffield, Manchester, Derby area. Do you know of any – either regular classes ro one off workshops. Thanks, Elaine

I went to Betty Cid’s class for a while, but wouldn’t really recommend them.

  • a gravatar flamencodancer Said:

Betty Cid is certainly NOT part of Flamenco Pasión or Sonido Flamenco, despite many “articles” and “announcements” to the contrary that seem to have suddenly appeared all over the net! In fact I’ve yet to meet anybody in the flamenco scene here in London who’s even heard of her professionally! Read more here …. Sandra
