I see above that there was some anxiety about there being no flamenco classes in Southend!

Well, for anybody who hasn’t noticed the latest developments, we now have weekly flamenco dance classes near the centre of Southend. There is also a new website http://www.southendflamenco.co.uk, which was launched just 2 days ago. Information will be added as quickly as we can write it.

We are still in the growing phase, but I am hearing comments that there is a lot of interest in the workshops Sandra will be running at the Clifftown Studios in January. Don’t miss out and book early!

This is the most exciting thing that has happened for flamenco in Southend for years, so don’t let it pass you by!!

Does anyone know if there are any male flamenco dance teachers teaching chidren in London? So far I can only find women teachers. Thanks

There are 2 superb professional teachers covering Cardiff and Bristol.

Jose Garcia – Saturday afternoons – Chapter Arts, Cardiff

Alejandra Velasco – Tues and Sat @ WYD Studio, Cardiff (contact Chapter Arts for details) and Fridays in Bristol @ The Tobacco Factory.

Betty Cid is certainly NOT part of Flamenco Pasión or Sonido Flamenco, despite many "articles" and "announcements" to the contrary that seem to have suddenly appeared all over the net! In fact I've yet to meet anybody in the flamenco scene here in London who's even heard of her professionally! Read more here .... Sandra

Hi one and all. Sounds like there is some real flamenco passion around the Southend area! Can anyone help me out by suggesting a good venue and perhaps with some advertising? I think I even know a guitarist in the area (are you still around there, Mike?) so this could be a real possibility.
